Bumped Review

Summary:  When a virus makes everyone over the age of eighteen infertile, would-be parents pay teen girls to conceive and give birth to their children, making teens the most prized members of society. Girls sport fake baby bumps and the school cafeteria stocks folic-acid-infused food.
Sixteen-year-old identical twins Melody and Harmony were separated at birth and have never met until the day Harmony shows up on Melody’s doorstep. Up to now, the twins have followed completely opposite paths. Melody has scored an enviable conception contract with a couple called the Jaydens. While they are searching for the perfect partner for Melody to bump with, she is fighting her attraction to her best friend, Zen, who is way too short for the job.
Harmony has spent her whole life in Goodside, a religious community, preparing to be a wife and mother. She believes her calling is to convince Melody that pregging for profit is a sin. But Harmony has secrets of her own that she is running from.
When Melody is finally matched with the world-famous, genetically flawless Jondoe, both girls’ lives are changed forever. A case of mistaken identity takes them on a journey neither could have ever imagined, one that makes Melody and Harmony realize they have so much more than just DNA in common.

From New York Times bestselling author Megan McCafferty comes a strikingly original look at friendship, love, and sisterhood—in a future that is eerily believable.

Rating: ♥♥♥♥
Cover: 3/5 cool how on the book, the egg is raised off the page so it actually feels like an egg :p but other than that, not too exciting...

Review: Bumped, despite the many mixed reviews, was actually a very interesting book. I loved the vocabulary used - how everything was "neggy" and stuff like that :p  It made it really cool to read, and it kind of sunk in that this is written really far in the future.

Without giving the book away, it was fascinating how Melody and Harmony (the twins) both questioned their living arrangements... how they became aware that not everything is black and white. And the chemistry!! Omgg I absolutely loved all the chemistry between certain characters! I mean you can tell right off the batt that Zen is totally jealous whenever Melody's Surrogette duties come up, but it's like she's oblivous! :p And then Jondoe and Harmony! Teehe that is one innnnteresting relationship :p

The ending was both very surprising and very anticipated... if that's possible :p I still can't decide if I love it or hate it. All I know is that it was a cliffhanger leaving me wanting more! I definitely can't wait for the second book, Thumped.

Title: Crossed
Author: Ally Condie
Release Date: November 1, 2011
Publisher: Dutton Juvenile
The hotly awaited second book in the dystopian Matched trilogy

Summary: In search of a future that may not exist and faced with the decision of who to share it with, Cassia journeys to the Outer Provinces in pursuit of Ky - taken by the Society to his certain death - only to find that he has escaped, leaving a series of clues in his wake.

Cassia's quest leads her to question much of what she holds dear, even as she finds glimmers of a different life across the border. But as Cassia nears resolve and certainty about her future with Ky, an invitation for rebellion, an unexpected betrayal, and a surprise visit from Xander - who may hold the key to the uprising and, still, to Cassia's heart - change the game once again. Nothing is as expected on the edge of Society, where crosses and double crosses make the path more twisted than ever.

So after I read Matched, I couldnt wait until the secong book Crossed would come out, and now the release date is almost here!! :D I'm so excited to read this and find out what happens to all of the different characters, especially Cassia and Ky! :p I really hope this books is just as good if not better than Matched.

Forever Review

Summary: The thrilling conclusion to #1 bestselling Shiver trilogy from Maggie Stievater.
In Maggie Stiefvater's Shiver, Grace and Sam found each other. In Linger, they fought to be together. Now, in Forever, the stakes are even higher than before. Wolves are being hunted. Lives are being threatened. And love is harder and harder to hold on to as death comes closing in.

Rating: ♥♥♥♥
Cover: 3/5 Cool cover, however I just think that if you knew nothing about the series and saw this in a bookstore, it wouldn't the most exciting thing to pick up.

Review: Oh man where to start :p Lol well first of all, I'm really  sad that this is the final book in the Wolves of Mercy Falls Series and I both loved and hated the ending. I found that it didn't tie it up very nicely... it left way too many questions. Now, whether or not Maggie did this because she's planning to come back to it in the future or if she just wanted to keep you guessing, I dont know :p Personally, I hope it's the former :D

Besides that, I loved this book just as much if not more than Shiver and Linger. Without spoiling anything, the ending actually made me cry until I knew what actually happened :p And i don't cry easily so I love it when authors are able to evoke that kind of emotion in people.

I also loved all the new characters, and the growth and developments of old characters. You see more of Grace's parents, especially her mother. And also the police officer, Koenig, plays a role as well! The chemistry between Cole and Isabel heated up, which was awesome because I love them as a couple!! :D They're both messed up in different ways that just makes them perfect for each other! Also, of course, Sam and Grace. Believe it or not, when I first read Shiver, I actually wasn't really sure if I liked them together... they were both just too similar and nice that I wasn't sure their would be any excitement besides the fact that Sam was a wolf :p But Linger and Forever have made me a fan :p It was really interesting to see how they would get through the fact that Sam was "cured" and Grace was now the wolf but it was really cool how they worked through it :p

Overall, great characters, great plot, loved the action!! Just a great book all around. I will sincerely miss the Wolves of Mercy Falls series.

Sarah Dessen!

Omigoodness! So today I went to the Sarah Dessen book signing at the Eaton Centre and it was amazing! She is honestly such an amazing person! I love her books and am only 4 away from owning them all :p
I also loved the fct that she signed as many of her books as you had in addition to the new one! I don't know about you, but I hate it when authors are like "oh ya, the new one plus 1" it's like, I'm taking the time to purchase your book and come to this signing and you won't even sign all the books I have?
So anyway, Sarah didn't do that and I was sooo happy! So she signed 7 books for me! (I have 2 copies of Just Listen :p) SO ya I just got home from it and can't wait to reorganize my bookshelf to fit the new book I bought, What Happened to Goodbye!
Oh, and while I was down there, I also stopped at a second hand bookstore and picked up Crescendo by Becca Fitzpatrick for only 5 dollars!! I know I was greaking out too :D and its a hard cover to boot! Lol so ya just wanted to put up my exciting news! Hope you had a happy wednesday! I know I did :D

The Help Review

Summary: Three ordinary women are about to take one extraordinary step.
Twenty-two-year-old Skeeter has just returned home after graduating from Ole Miss. She may have a degree, but it is 1962, Mississippi, and her mother will not be happy till Skeeter has a ring on her finger. Skeeter would normally find solace with her beloved maid Constantine, the woman who raised her, but Constantine has disappeared and no one will tell Skeeter where she has gone.
Aibileen is a black maid, a wise, regal woman raising her seventeenth white child. Something has shifted inside her after the loss of her own son, who died while his bosses looked the other way. She is devoted to the little girl she looks after, though she knows both their hearts may be broken.
Minny, Aibileen's best friend, is short, fat, and perhaps the sassiest woman in Mississippi. She can cook like nobody's business, but she can't mind her tongue, so she's lost yet another job. Minny finally finds a position working for someone too new to town to know her reputation. But her new boss has secrets of her own.
Seemingly as different from one another as can be, these women will nonetheless come together for a clandestine project that will put them all at risk. And why? Because they are suffocating within the lines that define their town and their times. And sometimes lines are made to be crossed.
In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women - mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends - view one another. A deeply moving novel filled with poignancy, humor, and hope, The Help is a timeless and universal story about the lines we abide by, and the ones we don't.

Rating: ♥♥♥♥
Cover: 2/5 Honestly, I just don't find this cover very interesting :(

Review: The reason it took me so long to read this book is not because it wasn't good - it was :p - but because school has started and there's homework and all that fun stuff... The Help was actually a very interesting and fun read! I thought it was absolutely fascinating to learn about life in the 1960's and the relationships between white and black people. I think Kathryn Stockett put alot of time and effort into researching all the facts for this book, and it definitely shows.

I also loved how she included the fact that, although most whites hated blacks and believed whole-heartedly in segregation, there were alot who were on the blacks side, and fought for the life in which we now live. This was just a very inspirational book that I recommend to all poeple of all ages. :)

One by one, children are succumbing to demonic designs. But Matt and Meredith soon discover that the source of the evil is darker and closer than they ever could have imagined. . .

Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥
Cover: 3/5 although the book is phenominal, the cover just doesnt do it enough justice :(

Review: Well this is another addition to the vampire diaries series and let me tell you, it has totally kept up if not exceeded the excitement of the previous books! :D
As with alot of a books, I found the beginning just a bit on the slow side... there was still lots happening, but I just found that it was not as breathtaking as usual. But then the story really got going and my goodness was it ever awesome!
I loved how the book had alot of different perspectives. At some point it would be in Elena's point of view, sometimes Damon's, Bonnie's... it kept it interesting :p Personally my favorite was Damon's point of view because I just love how to everyone around him, he seems so cold and heartless and uncaring yet he's actually so sweet and full of love! And only Elena can truly see him... although in this book, Bonnie also sort of moved in which, honestly, kind of irritated me :p I really want Elena to end up with Damon, so when Damon started caring about Bonnie, I was like "NO WAY!!" So we'll see what happens in the continuation of the series....
The ending of this book could make a priest swear and cry at the same time! I'm totally not joking! It is the absolute best and worst way ever to end the book! It is the very definition of cliff hanger! :D I was literally bawling and then shrieking in happines... when a book can do that to you, you know it's absolutely amazing!
So, The Vampire Diaries: The Return: Midnight should be on not only your to-read list, but your to-buy list :D

I'm reading The Help right now. I was determined to read the book before I watched the movie so I  finally got it! I can't wait to finish reading, watch the movie, and then compare!!
2. What did you recently finish reading?
So, I just finished reading The Vampire Diaries: The Return: Midnight and it was absolutely amazing! 5 stars! :D review coming soon

Forever (Wolves of Mercy Falls, #3) And I plan on reading the final addition to the Wolves of Mercy Falls series next which I am so excited for!! :D I can't wait to see how everything ends!

Beautiful Dead #1: Jonas Review

Review: ♥♥♥
Cover: 3/5 cover is kind of interesting but not my favorite

Rating: So Jonas was defnitely a good book and all, it just wasn't really my favorite. I'm givning it three stars because although I did like it and thought it had a really unique plot, it didn't really stick with me. Alot of the times, the entire contents of a book will stick with me for a few days afterward either because they were absolutely amazing or they were just that horrible :p But three stars is what I give to books that I defnitely liked, just didn't love and didn't find all that memorable.
Other than that, the book was interesting and I will definitely finish the series if only to find out what happens to the other three members of the Beautiful Dead. Perhaps the series will get better with time, but for now, I'd recommend just getting the book out of the library or something before purchsing because for me, it's not the kind of book I need to own.
Just my opinion. Maybe you have a completely different opinion :)
