Double Clutch Tour Stop: Review and Giveaway!

Hey everyone! So awhile ago, I received Double Clutch by Liz Reinhardt for review :p Today is my stop so enjoy the review and giveaway! :)

Summary: What happens when you fall for the perfect one day?

Brenna Blixen spent her freshman year homeschooling in Denmark; now that she's back in the States, she's determined to make her sophomore year unforgettable. And by unforgettable, she imagined awesome classes, fun friendships, and maybe a little romance.

What she got was a whole lot of romance, and all at once.

The same day that dark, brooding Saxon Maclean charmed her with his killer good looks and whip-smart wit, Jake Kelly stole her breath away with his heart-wrenching smile and intelligent, thoughtful focus.

But Saxon is a proud player who makes it clear that he doesn't know why he can't get Brenna off of his mind and out of his system, and Jake's sweet and humble attitude hides a secret past life that might be darker and more complex than Brenna is willing to deal with.

Complicating the matter is the fact that Saxon and Jake were once best friends and are now arch-enemies...and the more Brenna finds out about their connection to each other, the more intrigued and worried she becomes.

Between keeping the peace with her lovingly over-protective parents, designing t-shirts for her high school's rising punk band, keeping up her grades in classes split between academic and technical high school, and running the track like a maniac, Brenna has enough to worry about with out juggling two guys who make her heart thud and drive her crazy all at once.

She has to make a choice, but how is she supposed to do that when giving her heart to one of them might mean breaking the other's?

Recommended Age Group: Older YA

Rating: ♥♥♥
Cover: 2/5 Not the most appealing cover...

Review: This was actually a really good book! At first, I was unconvinced that I would enjoy it because I didn't particularly like the cover but it ended up being really awesome :p

My favorite character hands down was Saxon Maclean. He was definitely the funniest, most exciting, sarcastic character of the whole book! Whenever he was mentioned, I was instantly entertained :p I did not like Jake Kelly AT ALL! I mean ya he was sweet and seemed like the absolute perfect boyfriend... but he was just too bland and suck-up ish next to Saxon. I liked Brenna but not some of her decisions. Other than that, I found the characters relatable. Alot of the things that these teengaers did and went through is what normal everyday people go through so that was good :p

The plot was also good. It was exciting and there was lots going on - lots of semi-truths, adn lies, and secrets which are always so much fun to read about :D It was interesting to see how Brenna got herself out of a few scrapes. Definitely entertaining :p

The only thing, other than Jake, that I didn't like about Double Clutch was the ending. I totally thought it was going to turn out WAY different than it did, and I'm just not sure I liked it :( I know that some people may disagree, but I can usually call the ending and was pretty shocked when I was wrong this time! I guess it's a good thing - Liz did the unexpected :p It doesn't happen very often so congrats on being original :p

Overall, this was a pretty good book that I enjoyed and will probably read again at some point in the future :) I definitely suggest you give it a shot!

Ok now for the giveaway! :D Liz Reinhardt is offering an e-book copy of Double Clutch! Interested?? Just fill out the form below, and that winner could be you! Giveaway ends December 15th, INTERNATIONAL.

Anna and the French Kiss Review

Summary: Anna is looking forward to her senior year in Atlanta, where she has a great job, a loyal best friend, and a crush on the verge of becoming more. Which is why she is less than thrilled about being shipped off to boarding school in Paris - until she meets Etienne St. Clair: perfect, Parisian (and English and American, which makes for a swoon-worthy accent), and utterly irresistible. The only problem is that he's taken, and Anna might be, too, if anything comes of her almost-relationship back home.

As winter melts into spring, will a year of romantic near - misses end with the French kiss Anna - and readers - have long awaited?

Rating: ♥♥♥♥
Cover: 3/5 It's cool with the Eiffel Tower background and everything, but honestly, not that exciting.

Review: Wow! This book was... great!! :D From beggining to end, there was something going on - whether it was a happy or sad affair, it was always full of excitement and surprises.

I loved Anna! I thought her character was great, and really relatable. Her emotions were what teenagers in her position would definitely have been feeling... I mean, St.Clair?? Hello! First of all, he's got a British accent - SO HOT! And second of all, well he's just dreamy! Who wouldn't fall for him? I know I did :p

But other than the mesmerizing character... er- characters :p the plot was good and exciting. It was also quite frustrating. The entire way through I was mentally yelling at Anna to just confess her undying love for St. Clair... which of course didn't happen but a girl can dream :D But I was definitely never bored when reading this, which is always awesome :p

Overall, this was such an awesome book and I cannot wait to read Lola and the Boy Next Door! :D

Bloodlines Review

Summary: When alchemist Sydney is ordered into hiding to protect the life of Moroi princess Jill Dragomir, the last place she expects to be sent is a human private school in Palm Springs, California. But at their new school, the drama is only just beginning.

Populated with new faces as well as familiar ones, Bloodlines explores all the friendship, romance, battles and betrayals that made the #1 New York Times bestselling Vampire Academy series so addictive - this time in a part-vampire, part-human setting where the stakes are even higher and everyone's out for blood.

Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥
Cover: 4/5 The tattoo is cool :p

Review: Well let me start off by saying wow. This book was amazing! I was so nervous of what the turnout would be because alot of people said they just didn't like it. So I, of course, decided to read it and find out for myself... and boy am I happy I did :D

When reading the Vampire Academy series, Sydney made an appearance. I'll be honest, I wasn't very fond of her. I found it difficult to relate to her character and just didn't find her all that interesting - I was too wrapped up in Rose who definitely outshone Sydney. But in Bloodline, you see a whole other side to Sydney! She was sarcastic, funny, strong - everything a good character is :D And she was also alot more relatable. I found that alot of the situations she had been in in the past and what she was going through in the present, were something that normal teenagers could connect with and understand. (Minus the whole vampire angle of course :p)

Besides Sydney, however, there was also Adrian Ivashkov!!!! :D I don't know about you, but I was totally Team Adrian in VA :p So when I found out that he was a main character in this book, that pretty much sealed the deal for me. He was amazing! His character was hot, sweet, sarcastic, and everything else that comes with Adrian :p Needless to say, he was amazing :D

This book was great, however, not only for its characters but for its plot, action, and secrets! It was full of excitement and the end just about killed me! Like seriously, my whole body was rigid in anticipation while reading the last of the book. Youw ould not believe what is revealed and what happens because of that revelation - trust me it will leave you breathless for more!

Overall, this book was absolutely fantastic! Full of action, toe-tingling romance :p, graphic violence adn lots more! :D Seriously, I suggest you ignore all reviews and just read it to see for yourself - I doubt you will be disappointed :p

Shifting Review

Summary: After bouncing from foster home to foster home, Magdalene Mae is transferred to what should be her last foster home in the tiny town of Silver City, New Mexico. Now that she's eighteen and has only a year left in high school, she's determined to stay out of trouble and just be normal. Agreeing to go to the prom with Bridger O'Connell is a good first step. Fitting in has never been her strong suit, but it's not for the reasons most people would expect-it all has to do with the deep secret that she is a shape shifter. But even in her new home danger lurks, waiting in the shadows to pounce. They are the Skinwalkers of Navajo legend, who have traded their souls to become the animal whose skin they wear-and Maggie is their next target.

Full of romance, mysticism, and intrigue, this dark take on Navajo legend will haunt readers to the final page.

Rating: ♥♥♥♥
Cover: 4/5 The snake/hair thing is so cool :D

Review: I thought this was an excellent book! It was full of excitement and love and animals (haha :p) Basically everything a great book should have!

I love Maggie Mae - I found her to be an awesome female character. She was very strong, yet wasn't afraid to show a softer side... especially when it came to Bridger :D Bridger, in my opinion, was also a great character - definitely relatable... hot :p All those good things.

There was lots of blood and action in this book, especially closer to the end - it kept things exciting! There were tons of twists and secrets that got unveiled that made me jump up and scream in disbelief! When a book can do that, ya know its a good one :p

This definitely isn't your typical shape shifter book - its better! Very unique. I suggest you read it :p
